Heads-up: Firefox 153 beta Linux breaks shortcut

Hello,

I've just installed Firefox 153.0b1 on Linux and the new feature to configure keyboard shortcuts (see announcement) seems it steals Browserpass Shift+Ctrl+L (the default to open Browserpass popup) to open the bookmarks. It's very annoying.

Firefox keyboard shortcuts are visibile from about:keyboard and conveniently enough this action cannot be remapped. If I try to assign again Shift+Ctrl+L to Browserpass, I get an error message that I cannot overwrite Firefox shortcuts 🤦 :

Before crying wolf, can anyone confirm this?

I ran into the same thing earlier today on MacOS, albeit using a different extension with a different shortcut (Command+Shift+F).

Highly frustrating, and unlikely we can get the original hotkey back if Mozilla has preempted it for their own use.

@max-baz We may need to look at using a different hotkey default.

Just downloaded Firefox 153.0 beta2 and the issue seems to be fixed.

Still broken in Firefox v152.0.1 on MacOS. I don't run beta releases of Firefox though, so if they've done something in the beta channel only, I won't be seeing that yet.
