Is it possible to have sub rows that are not exactly the same as the parent row?

Below is a data grid that I made with this library. I would like to provide a feature where the user can expand the row to show notes.
Based on the example on the addSubRows page in the docs it looks like subrows can only be the same as their parent. But it also never explicitly says that in the docs.

If my row object has a property called "notes" is it possible with this library to have the expandable row only show that one property?
