Linking contacts and candidates through data loader

I've found that I'm able to create linked contacts/candidates through the data loader by using the linkedPerson field first on candidate entity and then reciprocally on contact entity - everything seems to be working correctly in Bullhorn, but Bullhorn previously told me this couldn't be done. Are there any issues linking contacts and candidates this way? Are there any other fields that need to be similarly updated?
