closing terminal aftre running test

Hi folks.
I'm new with this library. I implemented my test and received results but the thing is that I can't close the terminal after test to reuse it later. Even ctrl+c doesn't work to close the terminal so any solutions?

Please provide details. I get the impression that you are using EpoxyDuino. What operating system, what commands you are running, what is the sample code that reproduces the error?

I'm using this libray along with esp8266 01 1m and I've written the code using platform IO and I tested it on the board correctly. This is the actual test code

but the thing is I can't close terminal to reuse it for the next test operation (maybe after some modifications on my source code) even using ctrl+c doesn't close it, Unless I kill the terminal or go the esp board into the program mode which in this case terminal shows

Ok, you are running AUnit directly on the ESP01. I assume you using some sort of Serial Monitor provided by PlatformIO? What OS are you running it on? I am not familiar with PlatformIO, but I would guess that it is intercepting control characters (including ^C) so that it can pass those control characters to the microcontroller. Look up the manual for the serial monitor to see if they provided an escape mechanism to exit that program.

I'm running PlatformIO on windows 11 and according to the documentation ctrl+c is the esacpe mechanism.

--exit-char
ASCII code of special character that is used to exit the application, default 3 (DEC, Ctrl+C).

For example, to use Ctrl+] run pio device monitor --exit-char 29.

I changed my loop code like

and now I can close terminal properly using ctrl+c which proves that the issue isn't related to the PlatformIO serial monitor. However I don't know why this modification works!

I'm not sure you can be so conclusive about that. The AUnit library is running on the microcontroller. It interacts with the serial port by calling Serial.print(). That's it. It prints only printable ASCII characters (0x20-0x79, and of course, the line terminators '\r\n'). If the PlatformIO serial monitor does not handle ^C properly, then something's probably wrong with it.

Or maybe the problem is whatever terminal emulator you are using on Windows 11. I don't have a computer capable of running Windows 11 (thanks to Microsoft), so I can't help you with that.
