Using devenv with java and gradle causes the test runner to not work

Please provide an Short, Self Contained, Correct (Compilable), Example by creating a gist using devenv.nix, devenv.yaml, and optionally devenv.lock.

What test runner? How does it not work? What's the context?

That's my bad, sorry I was getting just a little frustrated at that point.

When using vs code (or vs codium in my case) the test runner extension here is unable to pick up JUnit5 and run the tests, presumably because it is accessing the wrong java. I've tried to manually (through the extensions settings) specify the correct java version, but I'm not experienced enough in java to make any useful progress (this is my first time using java).

I'm using this extension pack https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=vscjava.vscode-java-test
with VS Codium
all on the latest nixos 24.11 version

This is too complex of a repro for us too look into. The discord might be a better place for this.

Try finding out how the extension expects to find the JDK. If it uses environment variables, check that these are set in the shell.
