How to setup automatic Papirus folder icon color syncing

i have installed the papirus-folders-git aur package. according to the documentation on caelestia-cli, i have also run:

echo "$USER ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: $(which papirus-folders)" | sudo tee /etc/sudoers.d/papirus-folders
sudo chmod 440 /etc/sudoers.d/papirus-folders

so that papirus-folders may run without writing sudo. but when i change the wallpaper through the shell, the papirus icon colors remain same. is there something i am missing?

I don't know if it makes a difference, but the instructions say papirus-folders, not papirus-folders-git. I have papirus-folders installed, and it's working as expected. Worth noting that the icons don't change on the fly - you'll have to relaunch thunar for updates to take effect.

okay i installed the papirus-folders but still no luck. i tried to manually change the colors by:

papirus-folders -t Papirus-Dark -C black

but i got this error:

sudo: sorry, you are not allowed to set the following environment variables: USER_HOME, XDG_DATA_DIRS

but when i run it with sudo it works fine. is this okay? like shouldn't it work without sudo?

If you run sudo ls /etc/sudoers.d do you have a file in it called papirus-folders?

yes papirus-folders is indeed present in /etc/sudoers.d. when i run the papirus-folders with sudo, it does not ask for password. i was trying to ask if writing sudo with the command was required by caelestia or not?

ah, yes. it's still necessary to use sudo (though you shouldn't have to run it manually). The line added to sudoers just prevents needing a password for that particular binary
