I love how notifications display on the top-right of the display. I love that a list of notifications display on the top-right of the lock-screen. Neat. However, unless I am missing something, I cannot access the notifications on the desktop environment. I can see when a notification comes in, but if I ignore it to read later, there is no way for me to see the notification tray unless I lock the screen? This needs to be addressed.

I believe the best way that would make sense in this environment is to mouse-over the top-right corner and the list of notifications should display there and there should be a key combination to access that list as well.

P.S. Recently, I am able top mouse-over the bottom-right corner to a blank widget? And it displays with SUPER+K. Am I missing something?

Was added a few weeks ago, click+drag from top right edge of screen (altho I only learned how to access it after it was referenced in an issue lol)

But hover would be super nice, @soramanew (sorry for the ping!) any chance we could get an option to configure pop out notification sidebar on hover instead of drag? 🥺

Thanks for taking your time to reply man, I tried the git pull but I didn't know I had to run these commands afterwards, I installed caelestia from aur using paru, and it didn't work when I tried to update caelestia using paru -S carlestia-shell. I will try this and reply with what happened.

Oh I see, in that case you should try paru -S caelestia-shell-git, which should remove the existing AUR package you have and replace it with one built from source. That will achieve the same thing as the git pull method (you should only use one or the other to avoid weirdness).

Or, if you want to manage the installation yourself manually outside of paru, then do the manual git pull + cmake commands I suggested, but also first remove the AUR package using paru -Rdd caelestia-shell or something similar

i just tried the git pull method, and it worked, thanks man, although everytime i used paru to update using caelestia-shell or caelestia-shell-git it failed and said something along the lines of file already exists. thats why i stopped using paru to update caelestia and was happy with what i had, but this notification panel addition is nice to have

I might not have found it but I could not see a keybind (not even a bindm) for this, so how does it work ? Is it a quickshell setting ?

It IS quickshell. I'll try to find a way to trigger it somehow with hyprland (or if someone wanna do it I'd be grateful)

You can toggle it from caelestia-cli using caelestia shell drawers toggle sidebar, so you can easily set up a hyprland bind to toggle it, something like this for example in hyprland keybinds.conf:

bind = Super, N, exec, caelestia shell drawers toggle sidebar

Hi, I have a question. When I press this shortcut, the launcher also pops up (like on Windows when you press the Super/Windows key). Is there a way to prevent that from happening?

@Zahar257 I guess this might be because you have just "Super" bound to pop up launcher? If so, not sure there is a way to avoid that other than setting your launcher bind to something else (like the default Super + Space)

Hi, not sure if this is where I should be asking but where/how do I get audio with the notifications? I have been searching the internet trying to figure it out. So first thing is that quickshell has its own notification daemon so I don't need something like dunst (i prefer the look of quickshell's notifs anyway, but asking to look for confirmation). My question is how do I get audio with the different notifications. My PC has no audio cues for anything at all at the moment

1. sudo nano ~/.local/bin/caelestia-hover-notifications.sh
2. paste this :
