How to use gifs/mp4/webm as wallpapers

Ive added gif/webm/mp4s to the wallpaper folder just like the jpgs and it wasnt showing up for my wallpapers, was wondering if there is a fix or if its only able to take jpgs

Only image wallpapers are supported for now unfortunately (e.g. PNG, jpeg, svg, tiff, etc)

Can't really just change it no, but you can run something else in addition.

There are some PR's for animated wallpapers, but for now you could run mpvpaper, it works as expected on the right layer and all. It's manual, so you either set it up as a start command or so
mpvpaper -o "loop --no-audio --panscan=1" '*' [mediapath]
