Is there a way to change the existing commands? I'm interested in changing the wallpaper command, reason being I use wallpaper-engine, so I would like to change this to instead open another app that will show my available wallpapers from steam workshop folder and set the variable in my config file with the new wallpaper ID

I manage to add wallpaper engine... after installing linux-wallpaperengine I did create a small script to set the wallpaper.. I did have to kill the current wallpaper thought as it was hiding my wallpaper... I didn't find any hypr configuration for wallpaper, so I think that's inside the shell:

Then on hypr execs.conf add a new entry like this:
exec-once = /home/infinity/.config/hypr/scripts/steamwall.sh $wallpaper

Also add a variable in variables.conf with whatever wallpaper id

All that remains is changing the command to change the wallpaper to open a custom app to select a wallpaper from steam and change the variable stored in variables.conf

I actually did manage to use the >wallpaper command to change my wallpaper engine :D

1. st step - creating a script that reads ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/workshop/content/431960/ for each directory is a wallpaper id, copy the preview file with the id name into ~/Pictures/Wallpapers
2. nd step - create a script that captures what wallpaper is selected at ~/.local/state/caelestia/wallpaper/current it's a symbolic link pointing to the wallpaper you selected or use the command caelestia wallpaper... so with this new ID you compare to the $wallpaper var in your hyprland variables, if it's different, change the variable and request to execute my previous script to apply a steam wallpaper engine

the 2nd step script can be a daemon running in systemd or I don't know if commands can have multiple actions, if it's possible we just need to add the script to the command action (I would actually prefer this)... guess I'll need to try it :D

using the script manually it works like a charm (tho the clock widget and audio visualizer from the shell json config are gone) but it worked
howerver using caelestia/hyper-user.conf (adding exec-once ....) it is overlapped by the caelestia wallpaper ( I tried the pkill commands... nothing happened)
idk if i missed something or what

Disable the wallpaper from caelestia in shell.json (~/.config/caelestia/hyprland/shell.json) by adding: "background": { "enabled": false },

Also I don't use the clock widget... I did set up my own with eww... I made one that looks like (https://visualskins.com/skin/mond) without the music and weather things...
