Enhancement Proposal

It would be very valuable to have the same metrics we have now (request count, request duration, status codes) but on a per-route basis rather than globally.

This can already be done on the app level. Example. But, as discussed, having it upstreamed and supported by default would be very useful.

I think a lot of the code in the example linked above can be adapted to achieve this with minimal effort.

Just an FYI, we've started shipping this through flask-base. But having it upstreamed to the paas-charm would be great (I assume a lot of the logic can be reused)
