Cannot install @capacitor-mlkit/[email protected]

Hello,

Since Apple complain about the missing privacy manifest because barcode-scanning includes "GoogleToolboxForMac". I've been following this PR #179 and today tried to install the @next version of barcode-scanning for my Ionic 7 + Capacitor 6 application:

npm install @capacitor-mlkit/barcode-scanning@next
npx cap sync

Return the following errors:

So I went into ios/App and run pod update GoogleMLKit/BarcodeScanning which gives the following error:

        GoogleUtilities/UserDefaults (~> 7.8)

 * changed the constraints of dependency `GoogleUtilities/UserDefaults` inside your development pod `CapacitorMlkitBarcodeScanning`.
   You should run `pod update GoogleUtilities/UserDefaults` to apply changes you've made.

Where this error come from and is there's a potential solution for that?

The two versions of the pods CapacitorMlkitBarcodeScanning and FirebaseMessaging that you are using are not compatible with each other. If you share a Minimal, Reproducible Example using this template in a public GitHub repository, I can debug it and try to find two compatible versions.

So I created a repo from the template, added ios platform and packages that seems to be in conflict, here's the package.json:

Run npx cap sync and there's no errors. Should I need to add every capacitor plugins from my main project to the minimal one?

Delete the Podfile.lock in your main project and run npx cap sync again. Does the error still appear?

Removing the Podfile.lock is working. This is what I've done in my Ionic + Capacitor project :

cd ios/App
mv Podfile.lock Podfile.lock.bak
cd ../..
npx cap sync

The npx cap sync took few minutes but was a success.
