A product increment is the sum of all the Product/Project Backlog items completed during all the Sprints in this period of 3 months. At the end of a Sprint, we have a new Increment of our softwares and must be Done or Closed, which means it must be merged and in useable condition to meet the Scrum Team's definition of “Done” and "Closed".
