This is a nice project so I was interested and made a simple client to browse its images: https://github.com/UbeJelly/GALerie

Right now you can save images, load images from chosen programming language/field, see few logs, and save logs preferences...

It requests blobs instead of images directly, so there are no images saved in your folder until you click on any thumbnail

Done with cache system - it loads saved texture resources from previous session immediately when loading thumbnails, therefore they are skipped from http requests. (see 6557192)

It basically tells the array of image download queue whether its url is cached or not, and from there the rest of the functions that use this array knows if it's either still a blob to be converted into a texture, or an already existing texture resource in the memory.
