title: West Seneca skate video
date: 2026-07-27
---
<p>
 Yesterday I finished filming a skateboard "video part."
 Every clip was filmed at street spots in West Seneca, New York.
 It took three weeks of almost-daily skating to make this.
</p>
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xTZQhnA7l8M?si=Pzb-HibwrBnlralz"

 referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>
<p>
 West Seneca's not a big skateboarding town.
 I know that some people who live here skateboard.
 But I don't see people out street skating.
 I rarely see kids out skateboarding.
 There are many skateparks nearby, but none are in the town of West Seneca.
</p>
<p>
 My motivation for the video was to feature potential skatespots in West Seneca.
 Hopefully other people will see the video and realize that they <em>can</em> skate in town.
 Maybe someday I'll see someone else skate my curb spot or the ledge spot.
</p>
<p>
 Also I wanted to film a video with the intention of working through a list of tricks
 at specific spots. Few of the tricks were "new" to me.
 However, most of them I'd never done in the streets. Some of the tricks were very challenging.
</p>
<p>
 The kickflip over the curb took three separate sessions to land.
 The switch 50-50 to fakie shove took three hours to land.
 The nose manual took 5 sessions.
 Getting a flip trick over the speed bump took multiple sessions.
</p>
<p>
 Most of the tricks took an hour or more to land.
 Even tricks that normally are not difficult for me were complicated by the spot.
 The run-up for the 50-50 was very crusty.
 I'd never done a switch boardslide on a rail as big as this one.
 Same for the bench at the tennis court and the switch 50-50.
</p>
<p>
 So, I know this isn't "top-tier" skateboarding, and I know I wore a helmet (and I always will).
 But this was meant to be fun and a personal challenge.
 I worked hard on this video.
</p>
<p>If you're curious, this is the setup I used for every trick:</p>
<ul>
 <li>Real "High Roller" Nicole Hause 8.35" deck</li>
 <li>Ace AF1 hollow trucks (size 55)</li>
 <li>101a Satori wheels</li>
 <li>Bones Super Swiss bearings</li>
 <li>Jessup Ultra NBD grip</li>
</ul>
