How do we help people communicate data effectively ?

As a sort of follow up from the BoF, we talk alot about data when discussing devops practices. Quite often there's a big culture shift within organisations and at an individual level when tranisition from a belief based decision making model to a hypothesis with data based model.

Paticularly when engaging across discplines, the expectations around data presentation tend to be very different. I've also seen several great initiatives within organisations fail due to a lack of ability to express the data ( as opposed to gathering it ).

Are there any paticular resources, practices or success stories folk have encountered when it comes to helping people have more confidence in presenting their data and around making the data more easily consumable.
