[BOTW] Cutscene visual freeze when using a non-16:9 aspect ratio #692

Description

Describe the issue
In between screen transitions while watching a rendered 2d cutscene, the scene will inconsistently fail to progress, freezing graphics while retaining music (and dialog until next voice file). This is a known bug, typically attributed to FPS++, but turning off FPS++/changing settings does not fix the problem. Bug does not happen when Graphics > Aspect Ratio is set to 16:9. Tested with Impa's cutscene, and confirmed broken with 16:10, cutscene works with FPS++ set to 60 & Graphics > Aspect Ratio set to 16:9.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Graphics > Aspect Ratio > 16:10
  2. Launch game
  3. Cutscenes freeze

Expected behavior
Aspect ratio patch needs to account for slideshow-style cutscenes (Impa's cutscene is an example of this). My best guess is that the camera is going out-of-frame, and this is somehow bugging out the rendering engine and preventing the cutscene from progressing.

Screenshots
If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Win10 Pro 19045
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB

Additional context
(edit, wrong save. for testing, the cutscene before obtaining paraglider is also problematic)
I have a 16:10 monitor. Tested both with & without FPS++.
