In issue #82 support was added for setting transport via settings. I have attempted to use this option to set the specific transport, however this didn't appear to work. It is also rather unclear exactly where this setting is being picked up from.
Describe the solution you'd like.
Ideally, it would be nice to have some clear documentation on how to set the transport settings to async/sync. As I assume that setting the transport to be async is going to be a very common for those using the Django middleware.
