Render to PDF

I hope opening a discussion on this is okay. I tried searching the web, Issues, PRs and discussions and did not find anything mentioning PDFs. I'd love to have the option to render the Ouput to PDF format. I use Markdown for creating my scripts for students and I have to supply them with pdfs. Being able to render the PDFs from the CLI given a specific style setting would be amazing for me.

Any ideas on what the scope for something like that would be?
