📢 License Change: Moving to BSD-3-Clause

As of January 1, 2026, this project is no longer distributed under the BSD-4-Clause license.
It is now licensed under the BSD-3-Clause license.

Why the change?

The advertising clause in BSD-4-Clause is outdated, difficult to enforce, and not approved by the OSI (Open Source Initiative).

BSD-3-Clause is a permissive, simple, and widely adopted open source license.

It removes the advertising clause and is more compatible with modern open source licenses.

What does this mean for you?

You can still use, modify, and redistribute this project, including in commercial products.

There are no new restrictions — in fact, the license is now simpler and clearer.
