Example programm for Arduino IDE

Thank you for all your work here Christoph. I am really interested in that XCP topic and want to learn more about it.

Im not the most experienced programmer, so i want to ask for some help ans/or advice.

Is it possible to provide a minimal example code for the Arduino IDE? For example, the ESP32 chip? i would like to implement CANFD with MCP2517FD or, much better, XCP on eth with the ESP32 P4 with a PHY Eth Chip. I have the Vector toolchain (CANoe CANape, ASAP2 Studio) for handling ELF and A2L files.

For now, I got Polling working but thats Its.

I struggle with DAQ and timestamp.

My goal is to make a really fast measuring device that is connected to my CANape.

Hello Petros,

I am glad you asked, there will be a Arduino specific Blueparrot/cXCP distribution very soon;
for some reasons a amalgamation of the source tree is required (s. this script), the output will then redirected to a separate repository.
The code is basically hardware agnostic and should run on every Arduino (ESP32 boards not yet tested), I might need to add support for your CAN interface, but that should not be a problem.

thank you for your kind reply. My coding skills are not so ambigious and some of your wording is out of my knowlege.

To be honest, I am not familiar with "amalgamation" & understanding how to build your code and im hoping that you will provide some "beginner" freindly code in the future, as you said.

for my purpose XCP on Eth. would be great.

In the meantime, I try to study the XCP Handbook and looking forward for some example code for the Arduino IDE.

Hey Christoph! I tried to Build a Example, but I may forgott something.

Hello Petros,

Looks much like you are not running a Powershell.
Anyways, up-to-date example code is now included.
The complete Arduino repository still takes some time, on the other hand, here is the initial version of the documentation.
I think, it's best to start with the SXI driver - because it is the most portable on Arduinos and causes the fewest problems.

I got the SXI Sample to Compile with my ESP32. and the Build CMD works - it makes a new xcp.h, but does not add any files or folders to hello_xcp right?

Thank you for all the recent Work!

I might got lucky with the Wifi example and the ESP32.

I can Ping the Device and "try" to connect/Start Measurement it via CANape:
PS: There is still no Debug Messages in the Serial Console god knows why.

But, the ESP32 gets reset when connecting or measurement Start.

Hello Petros,

TIME_SYNCHRONIZATION_PROPERTIES is sort of an extended service (not handled yet), the crash was caused due to an out-of-range error. Now the response should be ERR_CMD_UNKNOWN.

Ok, START_STOP_SYNCH service was fixed, the measurement should now start.

I did try your Fix! and it works. Measurement can start now.
But, I cant see any DAQ Data from the variables Voltage1 - Voltage 4

That is my Log, the only data that comes in cyclically is GET_DAQ_CLOCK and its response. No Data.

Do I miss something in my A2L or do I need to change something else?
