Think about which data sources you need and where you can find this data. For the time you have, I'd suggest focusing on either wildlife or on changing ecosystems, as these may require different sources of data or different types of analysis. |

I like this project idea! I agree with Juan that you may need to focus on wildlife or changing ecosystems rather than both, unless the dataset you are using is looking at a certain species or a number of species and directly looking at how their ecosystems have changed. Since you are interested in looking at ice melt, I recommend you look at the National Snow and Ice Data Center, NOAA, and NASA for datasets. If there is time or you decide to narrow down your scope of work, it could be interesting to do an analysis of or discuss in your findings the implications with future climate projections. |

I think this is a great idea! Following up on Christina's suggestions above about the National Snow and Ice Data Center, if you are interested in sea ice, there are a variety of tools and datasets available on this page: https://nsidc.org/sea-ice-today/sea-ice-tools |

The part of data science lifecycle we will be focusing on is data analysis (management and analysis) and how climate change is affecting the ecosystem in the Arctic. We can collect data by looking into the rising temperatures over the years, satellite heat map of the arctic, the melting ice, and how the Arctic’s species ecosystem is being affected. All of the data that is being collected is going to connect with each other by showing the impact that climate change is doing to the Arctic. The key takeaways would be the impact of climate change, learning about data and habitat loss, also learning how the temperature rise is impacting the Arctics ecosystem.
