Description

Describe the bug

When searching in the "Explore community" tab, users can select the number of room cards to display. While there are predefined options, it is also possible to select a custom value. If a very high number (e.g., 1,000,000) is entered, the browser starts consuming excessive memory, causing the tab to freeze. This makes it impossible to cancel the action without closing the tab.

Reproduction

  1. Go to the "Explore community" tab in Cinny.
  2. Use the search feature and select a custom number of room cards to display.
  3. Enter a very large number (e.g., 1,000,000).
  4. Observe the browser consuming excessive memory and freezing the tab.

Expected behavior

The application should limit the maximum number of room cards to prevent excessive memory usage and browser crashes. If a custom value is entered, it should be validated and restricted to a safe range.

Platform and versions

1. OS: Windows 10
2. Browser: Yandex 24.12.0.1733, Google Chrime 119.0.6045.200
3. Cinny version: v4.2.3
4. Matrix homeserver: converser.eu
