pipeline sending build status notification even though I opted out #9849

Let me start by saying I'm definitely not sure if this is the correct place to open this issue.
A long time ago, I had a PR merged and I always opted out of build notifications as usually the companies I worked at had some form of integration that would notify me via Slack.
Since a couple of weeks, I started getting build notifications for this very project (even though I opted out of any notification)
I can't edit anything in the circleci docs project as I'm not owner or part or the org, I don't see anything else in the settings too that would disable it. Next step would be to either mark these emails as spam or create some rule to ignore them but I rather have this sorted the correct way (assuming this is an issue with circle ci)
