3. Updates to Install doc #723

@NVivero

Description

@NVivero

On the install page, vs the prereq screen, the Ubuntu versions are different.

  • EDIT: Review docs and update to standardize how we reference usable linux distributions.
  • For image below - update to "A Linux server - this is where the LME stack (e.g., Elasticsearch, Kibana) will be installed via Podman containers. Note: For more information on supported Linux distributions, see Supported Linux Distributions.

NOTE: We should probably create a new page that just lists out the currently supported linux distributions we've tested and verified. That way we can just reference that page whenever the topic of supported distros comes up in our docs. Not sure if that exists already.

  • For image below - update to "Note: See List of Supported Linux Distributions for more information on recommended Linux distributions for installing LME.

  • With the first command ran I'd recommend adding unzip, I ran into this last time as well as this time installing Ubuntu Minimal, with that also, I assume that is what I should be using?

  • Recommend Moving Step 4.7 Installing Sysmon (Windows Clients Only) before step 4.6 Deploying Agents. The elastic agent is optimally set up with sysmon running. The user can go in later and configure the sysmon modules, but reversing the order would better explain the prerequisites in my opinion.
  • 4.7 Installing Sysmon
  • EDIT: remove the "(reference github)" wording and link
