RetroArch language resets to English on every reboot

How can I permanently change the language in RetroArch? I’ve managed to enable the Online Updater and download the Assets. I can switch the language to Polish and save the configuration successfully—everything works fine for that session. However, after exiting and restarting RetroArch (or rebooting the console), it always reverts to English.

This issue usually occurs because CrossMix-OS or the TrimUI boot script overrides the retroarch.cfg file on every startup, or the 'Save Configuration on Exit' feature is not properly committing changes to the SD card.

Here are a few steps to fix this permanently:

Manual Config Save: After changing the language, go to Main Menu -> Configuration File -> Save Current Configuration. Don't just rely on 'Save on Exit'.

Check the Launch Script: In some versions of CrossMix, the launch.sh for RetroArch might be set to copy a 'default' config file over your custom one. Check the /mnt/SDCARD/RetroArch/ directory for any read-only flags on the .cfg file.

Global Settings in CrossMix: Since CrossMix manages its own global settings, check the System Tools/Settings menu in the main UI. Sometimes the OS language setting overrides the RetroArch internal setting.

Disable 'Config Overrides': Ensure you don't have a 'Core Override' or 'Content Directory Override' active that forces the language back to English.

If the problem persists, try editing the retroarch.cfg file directly on your PC using a text editor (like Notepad++) and search for the line user_language = "X" (where X is the code for Polish) and save it. This often bypasses the UI-save issue.
