[BUG] Parakeet Transcription Failures

Bug Description

The occurrence of failed transcriptions has increased significantly since the update to 0.8 and 0.8.1.
I don't think I've had more than a single one before, but I've had half a dozen just today working with this new version.

And I need to generate some logs of failures. None of my current logs have any failed transcriptions in them. It is not common, just a LOT less rare than it was a week or two ago.

Same here. Especially in short sentences. For example, "same here" I had to say three times. I'm on Linux Parakeet v3, 0.8.1

@dadaphl mind sending a sample of the failed audio? I want to debug this outside the app and the more samples I have the easier it will be to confirm and have a good fix

I feel like there should have been more audio in the beginning of the clip. Maybe just a fraction of a second. It seems chopped.

@dadaphl what os, and do you have audio feedback enabled, the mic can take some time to initialize depending on the platform

im not entirely surprised it failed to transcribe the sample you sent, it took me a few listens to get anything out of it haha

but I would suspect theres at least a few words it should have got

I know haha. But seriously. I'm experiencing that in a lot of my recordings the first word is missing. And now that I'm listening to the audio, they're also not in the recording. Maybe the microphone has some delay in initializing.

Go check the about page for the log directory (and log file), and lets see how long the init time is for the mic

There is a debug mode (ctrl+shift+d) to keep the mic active all the time, so there should be no initialization time

@cjpais I just did another one. This one is crystal clear in my opinion. Not sure why it cannot be Transcribe.

yep this is good and it should transcribe fine

curious does this happen with canary-180m or other models, or just parakeet.

I will go try and see if I can find where if any regressions can be found
