TH1123ZB-G2 Temperature Offset

Hello,

I was hoping you can help me understand one of the paramters better. When I update local_temperature_offset the change is not reflected in current_temperature. Is this normal? How do I get the offset to work?

If you speak about cluster 0x0201, attribute 0x0010, local_temperature_calibration. This is used to change the value red by the thermostat for room temperature. You can change it from -2.5 to +2.5 oC. Offset value should be sent as celsius * 100 so it is -250 to +250
If you send -200 it will reduce the value of room temperature sensor by 2 oC. If so the thermostat will think that the room temperature is lower and keep heating to reach the setpoint temperature.
Normally we use that attribute is the room temperature is not accurate. You need to check with a good thermometor to see if the adjusted temperature is accurate.

Claude, the value must be -25 to +25 (celsius * 10)
This does not work for my TH1123ZB-G2 but works ok with my TH1123ZB. Must be a problem with firmware.

Thanks Claude - what you are saying makes sense, and it is intuitively how I expected it to work. However, when I change the offset (from -2oC to +2oC, for example) my thermostat reading does not increase by 4°C.

I suspect houlejm might be right and there could be an issue with the firmware.

In the attached screenshots I changed the offset from one extreme to the other, but the temp reading stays unchanged.

did you check in zha manage zigbee device for your TH1123ZB_G2 to see what contain cluster 0x0201, attribute 0x0010 to see if there is a value in it. should be 0. Then you cans try to write value there like 200
I have one TH1123ZB-G2 that I can switch to zha tomorrow to check on my side

I just check in a device scan I did few month ago and cluster 0x0201 attribute 0x0010 is there with value 0

@houlejm don't see the difference 2.5 * 100 = 25 * 10. as value you put 250 or -250, not the formula. In ZHA in the device page the value that can be set is from -2.5 to +2.5. Then ZHA do a *100 before it send to thermostat. Maybe you should stay between -2.5 and 2.5 if you use zha to send the data to thermostat.

Thanks for the prompt responses guys. ZHA front-end does indeed populate that cluster. But two things I notice. When I slide to -2.5° it updates the attribute with -25 (not with -250). Check out the error I get when I try to put in 250 (screenshot 1).

Either way, when I update the values from -25 to +25, the temperature does not update, it stays the same (screenshot 2 and 3).

I've tested on my side with a TH1123ZB-G2 in ZHA and it work perfectly. Firmware is 0x00010300

My TH1123ZB-G2 in ZHA has installed_version: 0x00010400 and I cannot do what you do. If I change "Décalage de température locale" the temperatures do not change. I believe it worked ok before updating. As I said before, my TH1124 (not G2) work as expected. I wish I could revert to a previous version.

If you want to downgrade your firmware, I think the only way is to do a full reset to factory. Otherwise you can just update to new version with Neviweb and there is no option to chose firmware version.

I'm gonna report this to Sinopé as 0.1.3 is working fine. Hope it could be corrected with next firmware version.

Do you know how to do a full factory reset. I did try their recipe [https://support.sinopetech.com/1.1.2.2.19/] but it does not correspond to what I see. It does a simple reset.

Did you try this one

Raise the temperature until the display change.
Push the two button until CLR appear on the screen.
Push once the upper button to get YES on the display.
Push both button simutanously and release immediately. DONE should appear on the screen.
The thermostat will restart with factory setup.

I think you need to push on the two button and keep pushing for few seconds. It's not just a quick push like when we connect the device.
