IMPORTANT

As of v1.1.0 and later, pxc-release now supports deploying with Percona XtraDB Cluster v8.4.

MySQLv8.0 will be reaching EOL in April 2026, so all users are advised to begin making preparations and plans for migrating to 8.4

To use Percona XtraDB Cluster v8.4, set the pxc-mysql job's mysql_version property to "8.4".

The default MySQL version remains "8.0" for compatibility with existing consumers but the default will change in a future major version bump.

As with any major database version upgrade, testing and ensuring backups prior to a major version upgrade in production is strongly encouraged.
