Why React?

My memory is a little fuzzy, but if I remember correctly this design system started out as framework agnostic that react/angular/gwt or others could wrap. It seems like it's consolidated to being react only, curious about that decision and what the tradeoffs were.

The decision to use React only was made in order to simplify the development as our target consumers all use React. We are discussing the potential of making the components better framework-agnostic so that we can support e.g. mobile-native frameworks, but there are no specific plans yet.
