Hello, author. May I ask if your synthdog tool in the project can be used to synthesize data containing formulas and tables? The formulas might be a bit more complex, such as LaTeX formulas.

Hello, and thank you for your interest in our research. The synthdog tool we've released is designed to mimic document images with simple text lines rendered in a simple rule-based paragraph structure. It doesn't natively support rendering LaTeX formulas or tables, but with some modifications, it might be possible to achieve this. I hope this helps!

for table drawing on image you can see this code snippet with some modifications and tweaks you can make it generate harder tables
you might also want to generate HTML for the tables you draw so you can train donut model to generate them or generate latex syntax for the tables and train a model like nougat which the pretrained model already has some table image to latex capabilities

another way to get table data is the webvicob repo
and another model that is like donut and has table cabaplities is dolphin
