Push Notifications: Connect to Google/Apple notification APIs #539

Description

@data-coasys

Background

From the Flux conversation (2026-02-10) between Nico and HexaField.

Problem

Users want to receive push notifications on their phones when events happen in Flux (e.g., someone joins a call in their community).

Existing Infrastructure

"Faheed was setting up two years ago servers that should stay there somewhere. We need to look into it to connect to Google and Apple push notification API" - Nico

Requirements

  1. Investigate existing notification server infrastructure (Faheed's setup)
  2. Connect to Google FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) for Android
  3. Connect to Apple APNs for iOS
  4. Enable condition-based notification triggers in AD4M apps

Use Case Example

"I want to get a push notification on my phone if somebody joins a call in the main community and then join from the phone" - Nico

AD4M Integration

AD4M already has a system to define app conditions that trigger notifications - this needs to be connected to the mobile push infrastructure.

Priority

High - Critical for mobile app usability.
