When creating or connecting a Smart Wallet, it’s not always clear why it fails.
The process can stop without a clear error message or explanation.

Expected behavior

The wallet flow should:

• Show clear error messages
• Explain what went wrong
• Tell the user how to fix it

+1 on the need for clearer error messages. As someone building on Base, debugging Smart Wallet connection failures can be challenging.
Some specific scenarios that would benefit from better error handling:

• Network mismatch (wallet on mainnet, dApp expecting testnet)
• Passkey authentication failures
• EIP-1271 signature validation issues on unsupported chains
  Would be great to have error codes that developers can programmatically handle.
