Description

Euro-office is a fork from onlyoffice, led by European companies, to have a opensource alternative without suspicious blobs.

Update: Eurooffice was announced today at the Nextcloud 34 launch, it seems already available in the AIO edition https://www.reddit.com/r/NextCloud/comments/1u160id/nextcloud_hub_26_spring_is_here/

I prefer running a dedicated VM -- the only office script seems based on debian + install their deb package, which is also provided by euroffice, so probably it could be very similar?

I prefer having fully European software when possible. OnlyOffice is know for Russian ties

i see american devs inside the org, so is it better? ^^ All I know is that there’s been quite a bit of bad blood brewing behind the scenes, because it’s a fork that uses nearly identical names, files, and so on. So I’d wait another six months to see if it splits off properly or if it stays pretty much the same. Right now (based on my investigation), it’s just a fork with a different label or name.

Well, their intention is replacing all blobs from Onlyoffice by opensource alternatives. They already have the debian package, and are working to have their debian repository. I guess when they reach that maturity/stability, it's a quick switch from OO to EO
