Ai function do not work, installation of packages fails after download.

I'm facing exactly the same issue in my LXC container

I managed to get a bit further by manually installing several modules using the pip install but it fails a little bit later with this error message:

Modules I installed are numpy, mediapipe and rembg. I found the list from tools documentation:

But now I'm stuck on

I tried to reset the environment, downgrade some modules, resintall in a different order with no success

The LXC builds the AI venv with uv venv --seed and never installs the base packages the bundles need. SnapOtter's bundles are pre-built deltas that sit on top of a base env (numpy, Pillow, opencv, huggingface-hub) baked into the Docker image; they ship only the delta, so the first import fails with No module named 'numpy'. The libavif and matplotlib errors after that are the same missing base.

amd64 has a second wall: the published amd64 bundle is Python 3.12 and GPU-flavored (about 7.2GB, onnxruntime-gpu + CUDA), but the LXC venv is Python 3.11 CPU. It can't load even with the base added, and there's no CPU amd64 bundle. So on amd64 the reliable path today is the official Docker image, which runs CPU-only fine: https://docs.snapotter.com.

arm64 just needs the base. In the container:

Don't use Settings > AI Features > Reset AI Environment on the native LXC: it deletes the venv, and the next install fails with the spawn .../python3 ENOENT you saw. Tat issue is tracked at snapotter-hq/SnapOtter#796.

Durable fix for the install script: after the venv is created, seed those base packages and match the venv Python to the arch (3.11 arm64, 3.12 amd64). I checked the arm64 path on Debian 13 with the real toolchain and it runs a full background-removal end to end.

Thanks a lot mate! I’m not sure I’m following you, I tried the command you sent but still getting errors. But I’ll need to start clean before testing, probably my installation has been crippled by my messy tentative to understand and fix the issue. I just had to manually install one more dependency:
