What are people's thoughts on allowing direct participation from social media platforms like Instagram or X?
We'll use Polis for our projects with HiveMindSpeaks (details below), and investigate how we can increase public engagement.

• Adding a statement: We post on Instagram, prompting people to state their opinion on a certain topic; their comments are then directly fed into the debate on Polis
• Voting: We post a statement on Instagram, and people can react to it. Their reaction is fed back into Polis as an Agree, Disagree, Unsure

Some words from the founder on how HiveMindSpeaks uses Polis

Hive Mind Speaks is using the Polis platform to support public engagement following large-scale public art interventions. Each of our three current projects; on climate, medical assistance in dying and the UK’s relationship with the EU, begins with a public installation designed to provoke interest and reflection. We will then direct audiences to participate in an open Polis conversation where they can agree or disagree with others’ statements and submit their own. As participation grows, we use Polis’s consensus analysis to identify shared viewpoints, which we translate into clear, citizen-informed recommendations. These are ultimately put to a public vote in referendums, where we hope to engage as many people as possible. We’re exploring whether it’s technically possible to allow people to interact with the Polis conversation directly from social media platforms, for example, allowing users to vote on statements or submit new ones without leaving Instagram or X. This would help lower the barrier to participation and make the transition from public art to digital dialogue more seamless and accessible.
