They are derived from tools originally written for the Cooper-Hewitt collections data releases but should be general purpose enough to be applied in other contexts.
Except the generate_meta.py script which still needs to be made modular. So, it's left as an example and a starting point. Buyer beware and all that...
They are still a work-in-progress. In particular their lack of documentation.
