I'm interested in having bootc operating systems such as Fedora Silverblue boot onto a wide variety of Arm platforms. With the recently approved systemd-stub support, this should be much easier.

What is unclear to me is how this would be implemented for the atomic desktop distros. The proposal mentions "aarch64 Fedora Live ISO images" which I think technically excludes those. Since the bootloader is tightly managed, it seems logical that some bootupd work could be needed.

I don't think there is any bootupd changes needed for https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Automatic_DTB_selection_for_aarch64_EFI_systems. The proposal is to create a new kernel image with systemd-stub embeded and DTBs that would be booted by GRUB. So nothing should change fro the perspective of bootupd/bootc.

from bootc to be fully resolved.
