It's not impossible this could be done by coding new features into Hyperkitty with new links/buttons on the page such as "mm2 views", leading to other pages. Do not replace Hyperkitty's current appearance, but add yet more options for browsing messages, posts, threads.
Also, submit the changes upstream to the main Hyperkitty project.
