I have noticed that (uncached) searches on the plugin store usually take 5-10 seconds to return. I have no idea what goes into this search process, but my intuition is that there probably is a way to make it significantly faster. This occurs whether I'm accessing it through the cp or directly, and no matter my device or browser or what site I'm working on.
Additionally, the results often don't include what I'm looking for, or the options are often far from the first result. For example, searching for "Icon", I get this:
Only a handful of those plugins have anything to do with icons, and the first one that does is at the end of the 2nd row.
I think the core issue is that results are sorted by 'popularity' by default, and there is no option for 'relevance' sorting. Assuming the plugin store is built on Craft, I'm wondering if Craft's scoring system could be used.
