Feature Request: Option to Build with Pending Entries

My team wants to be able to easily build our staging environment with pending pages, but exclude them in our prod build

Currently before we sync to prod, we have to manually disable all entries that are still being worked on. I know that we could modify our queries with status: ["live", "pending"] to retrieve the pending entries, but I think this would be a cleaner solution!

It would be great if there were a setting in general.php to enable pending entries returning with queries

Craft doesn’t have any built-in support for syncing content between environments in the first place. Maybe you’re using a plugin to do it, or a custom script? Either way, this feature would need to be implemented there.

Am I misunderstanding that Craft is controlling filtering out pending entries from graphql queries? What I'm hoping for is a craft setting to optionally include pending entries in all graphql queries to avoid adding status: ["live", "pending"] to every query in our code. To make that work in different environments we'd need to use a variable for these statuses based on the env, and it would be a lot cleaner to have a general.php setting instead if that's possible!

What I'm trying to work around here is the default behavior that "pending" entries are not returned by graphql queries, only when you specify their status specifically
