In the Craft control panel , we have the option of clicking on an asset field and, if it's an image we can choose to edit it (change crop, focal point, etc). However, when we save that image edit from the asset field within the entry, it routes us back to the assets area of the site, not the entry currently being edited. WE then have to navigate back to that entry to continue editing. Is there a way I can make this UX more seamless? |

I’m not able to reproduce that. After pressing “Save” within the image editor, the image editor will just fade away, and the edit page is revealed behind it. How exactly are you editing the image? And what version of Craft are you using? |

I should've been more clear, my apologies. I'm running 5.8.21 |

The issue is that you are clicking the title of the asset, thus navigating to the asset edit page and losing your entry context.
For the image editor to remain "context aware" and thus be able to return to the entry, you have to access it from the "Open in image editor" on the asset thumbnail (in the actions/3-dots menu) or in the slideout that opens if you doubleclick the thumbnail, while still in the entry edit page.
Having said that, hyperlinked titles in cards, chips and thumbnails can lead to the author getting confused, and this has been remedied in 5.9.
(Though, @brandonkelly check my comment.)
