MSK cluster creation takes a long time

Dear CrateDB team,

thank you for providing this example rig. On page 7 of the walkthrough document, we can find this statement:

12. Wait until the stack creation is completed before proceeding to the next steps.
    It may take a while for the MSK cluster creation (~30 to 45 mins).

Is it true it takes this long for a managed Kafka instance to spin up on AWS infra? We can imagine this might cause obstacles in a typical workshop environment / session. Do you have a workaround to manage this properly, like handing out advises to provision resources before the workshop starts?
