[Request] Main navigation menu reordering or "favourites" #1783

Describe the feature
Now that there are a larger number of navigation items in the tree layout, and with the layout re-geared to potentially grow further in the future, it would be good if users had some way to reorder the menu according to their preferences. One relatively simple and obvious way to do this would be to allow users to favourite menu items, so that the favourites appear at the top of the list.
