When is bp_groupblogs_cron triggered

The function bp_groupblogs_cron_refresh is added to the action bp_groupblogs_cron. However, I can find no instances of this ever being triggered. As far as I can tell, this is why feeds do not update groups unless visited.

My bad, I found it but my find raises more questions than it answers.

This is set to trigger each hour but the option in a group gives 10,20,30,60 as options. Are these just ignored?

No, it's not ignored. There are two types of checks:

1. There's a global check that's triggered by the wp-cron job. This is what you've referenced above.
2. Each group's feeds can optionally be pinged more frequently. This happens when the group is loaded. This is what the 'fetchtime' dropdown is for. See
