Library Classification Schemas (DDC, UDC, LCC)

This repository contains open‑source, machine‑readable JSON representations of major library classification systems:

  • Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC)
  • Universal Decimal Classification (UDC)
  • Library of Congress Classification (LCC)

The goal is to provide a structured, reusable data source for developers, librarians, and researchers who work with library metadata, cataloging tools, or knowledge organization systems.

This repo contains English and Bahasa Indonesia in JSON Format.

📚 Why This Repository?

Library classification numbers are the backbone of any physical or digital library. Having these schemas in a clean, parseable format allows:

  • Building search interfaces that suggest related subjects
  • Validating call numbers in library software
  • Creating educational tools (like the interactive demo on curatorian.id)
  • Automating collection analysis and mapping

All data is offered under an open license to encourage reuse and collaboration.
