VNC/Console access, connection refused

I've tried adding

      - "5900:5900"
      - "5901:5901"

to my compose.yml to no avail

I had the same problem when running virtlyst in docker, the problem was that the guest connection was only listening on 127.0.0.1 but my QEMU was running on the docker host and I just mounted the libvirt socket into the container:

    volumes:
      - ./data/:/root
      - /run/libvirt/:/run/libvirt/

The solution was to change the graphics listen address to the actual internal ip of my docker host
