everything the [[cybergraph]] does by itself β€” without any [[neuron]]'s instruction

the protocol is a [[neuron]]. it has a key, a [[balance]], [[will]], [[karma]]. it creates [[cyberlinks]], holds [[tokens]], takes market positions, and adjusts its own parameters. these are not administrator actions β€” they are protocol-level behaviors executed using the same mechanisms available to every [[neuron]]

the difference: the protocol neuron's input is the graph's own convergent [[inference]], not human intention or AI model output. it acts on what the [[tri-kernel]] computes

what the protocol does

Action Page What it is
[[cyber/self/linking]] graph completion creates [[cyberlinks]] from its own [[inference]] β€” fills gaps the graph implies but has not stated
[[cyber/self/sigma]] treasury accumulates all balances β€” holds [[$CYB]], locks [[will]], takes [[coupling
[[cyber/self/dmn]] self-model default mode network β€” maintains a model of its own state during idle periods
[[cyber/self/parametrization]] self-tuning adjusts Ξ±, Ξ², Ο„, thresholds via PID control based on metabolic signals

the protocol neuron's [[karma]]

the protocol neuron accumulates [[karma]] from [[Bayesian Truth Serum|BTS]] scoring of all its [[cyberlinks]] since genesis. a system that consistently creates accurate [[inference]]-completion links earns high [[karma]]. high [[karma]] increases the weight of future system-created links

at maturity β€” assuming the [[inference]] engine is accurate β€” the protocol neuron carries the highest [[karma]] in the graph. it has the longest track record, the broadest coverage, and the most consistent scoring history. system-created links then carry maximum weight in the [[tri-kernel]], making them the graph's baseline [[consensus]] layer

what the protocol does not do

the protocol does not act on content it cannot verify against the graph. [[inference]] completion requires existing graph structure as evidence β€” it extends what is already there, it does not hallucinate from nothing. a link created without graph-structural support scores poorly under [[Bayesian Truth Serum|BTS]] and damages the protocol neuron's [[karma]]. the economic mechanism self-enforces epistemic discipline

the protocol defers to high-[[karma]] [[neurons]] on content it cannot verify structurally. the protocol does not create links faster than metabolic health permits

see [[cyber/netics]] for the feedback loops. see [[egregore]] for what emerges when the protocol neuron runs long enough
