₤ sign in user and password

Hello,

I use Kitty for the automated bash ssh connections in windows which works perfectly. Thanks for the great software. Unfortunately I have now the problem that in a connection the username and the password is a ₤ character which is processed correctly in the bat file (utf8) but is displayed in the logins as ú which does not allow me to login. Is there a possibility to change kitty to utf8 or to mask the character.

I stumbled upon a similar issue some time ago and discovered the same happens with PuTTY.
My workaround was to convert the password to UTF-8 bytes and then "re-encode" those bytes via my current ANSI codepage to a new string and provide this as password to PuTTY/KiTTY.

Not sure if this is helpful, but here is some .NET sample code I came up with to address this:

string password = "test₤passwd";
System.Text.Encoding AnsiTextEncoding = System.Text.CodePagesEncodingProvider.Instance.GetEncoding(System.Globalization.CultureInfo.CurrentCulture.TextInfo.ANSICodePage);
string passwordForPutty = AnsiTextEncoding.GetString(Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(password));
