Please do not reset the terminal scroll position on window resize and/or when new text is printed ?

Hi,

I had been scroll for a really long time in my console,
trying to find a particular line
Finally I found it.
I accidentally resized the screen
Terminal scroll back to the end

I say nnooooooooooooooooo !

Is there a way to stop this from happenning ?
No matter what, please don't more the scroll for me unless I am at 100% (the end) that is the only time it should autoscroll.
I am often annoying at having to fight my terminal scrolling !
