Info view: display as dialog

Problem

Quite often I only open the info view as a one off to check some status such as the xtriggers, then close it. At the moment this is a bit disruptive as it opens in its own tab.

Proposed Solution

As with the command dialogs, how about opening the info view in a dialog and having a button to open it in a tab if you want it to persist

Possible and makes sense as the info and log views are much more likely to be "disposable" / single-use as compared to say the tree or table views.

I think it's important that the option to open in a tab remains possible with a single click, else this use pattern will become very inconvenient.

On the "disruptive" side, dialogues and tabs both cover the active view and require a single click to close, so one method isn't appreciably better than the other right? Maybe easier to find the close button with a dialogue (because they close via click-outside)?

Perhaps splitting the window by default so the tab opens alongside the active view rather than over it might help here?
